Who I Am
Samantha Jean is a New Jersey-based singer, songwriter, apprentice producer, and college student known for her fluid, chill, alternative indie pop sound. A young artist with an old soul, she combines smooth vocals with upbeat rhythms, laid-back lo-fi melodies, and wise lyrics. Her unique and engaging sound feels like she’s singing directly to each listener.
Samantha’s talent was first discovered by the staff at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she spent long periods during high school being treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her music became a lifesaver, providing energy to get through brutally difficult cancer treatments. As a survivor, Samantha now sings stories of compassion and shared humanity–capturing each listener with introspective, engaging lyrics sprinkled with a twist of wit.
During performances, Samantha’s goal is to bring inspiration, hope, love, and positivity into people’s lives. She has performed at venues including Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and the Make-A-Wish International Convention at Disney World, where she impressed influential music executive Scooter Braun with her sound and professional grace. Braun, with the help of Make A Wish, flew Samantha to Los Angeles, where prominent producers and music industry leaders helped Samantha record her music.
Samantha’s first single, ‘brussels sprouts’, is available on all streaming platforms, where it’s been praised for its catchy sound and quirky, relatable lyrics. Her second single, Survivor’s Guilt, which describes the profoundly emotional effect of her journey, is coming soon. An EP featuring these singles plus more songs will follow.
Samantha Jean is currently performing her own music and covers at local venues in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. She looks forward to sharing more of her music and story with you!
